The Eating Disorders Center is Finland’s first treatment center focused on the treatment of eating disorders. We were involved from the project planning stage to the completed implementation and designed new premises for the former restaurant space in Malmi, Helsinki. The facilities are suitable for permanent supervised housing for seven patients. In addition to the living quarters, gym and therapy rooms, a small canteen and staff and office space were planned for the site. A soothing treatment environment arose from the extensive use of wood in wall surfaces and floors. The lighting can be adjusted according to the time of day.
